Derry – Belfast – Dublin
From Dublin city center, your very first stop is at Trim Castle – in the city of Trim, County Meath. This castle has an area of 30,000 square meters. This 12th century Anglo Norman fortress remains as the largest castle of the island, the largest Norman castle in the whole of Europe. It was built by the first ever Norman to be recorded in history – Hugh de Lacy. The castle was used in the Mel Gibson film Braveheart. Next up is Loughcrew in nearby Oldcastle. This historical site has many megalithic burial grounds that date back to around 3500 BC. This is also where you will find one of the four remaining Irish passage tombs – the Lough Crew Passage Tomb Cemetery. From there you drive to Enniskillen – the county town of County Fermanagh. This island town found in the center of Lough Erne is the main retail center and the largest settlement in the county. You will be given the chance to roam around the town and perhaps have a pint or two over at the local pubs. Last stop for the day is at Derry – the Maiden City of Northern Ireland. From its troubled past, Derry has been reinvented into the North West’s major shopping district with two large shopping centers (Foyleside Shopping Centre and Richmond Centre) and tiny versions (Quayside and Lisnagelvin) in place; not to mention the Crescent Link Retail Park located in the Waterside and the oldest independent department store in the world – Austins, established way back in 1830. This vibrant city is where you will be spending the night, that is, after having a party of traditional Irish music and song.
The next day starts with a scenic coastal drive to Dunluce Castle, found between the cities of Portballintrae and Portrush in County Antrim. The castle possesses one of the most extensive ruins in Northern Ireland, situated on the edge of basalt cliffs with steep drops on either side. The castle is accessible via a bridge connected to the island. Your way to the castle is an experience in itself, and being inside the actual castle is almost surreal. Next up are the basalt columns of Giants Causeway – 40,000 columns of astounding natural beauty. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is found on the northern coast of Northern Ireland. Then your make your way to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, a 20 meter long suspension bridge that hangs over rocky waters 30 meters below. It connects the small Carrick Island to mainland Ireland. From the bridge you can see nearby Rathlin Island and as far as Scotland. Carrick-a-Rede means “rock in the road.” Your next stop is through the scenic Glens of Antrim – a collection of nine stunningly beautiful valleys - on your way to the capital Belfast. The second largest city in the island is also the largest urban area in the north and the seat of government of Northern Ireland. There are lots of things to do in Belfast, and the best of them is partying the night away.
The next day is spent going around Belfast in the famous Black Cab tour. Take a look back at their rich history with the murals of both Falls and Shankill. On your way to Carlingford, you pass by the Mourne Mountains or simply the Mournes – a granite mountain range found in County Down. This is one of the most famous ranges in the island and its surrounding area is considered an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has been proposed to make the Mournes the first National Park of Northern Ireland. Next up is Monasterboice and its Celtic high crosses – most famous of which is 5.5 meter Muiredach’s High Cross, the finest high cross in the entire island. It was named after Muiredach mac Domhnaill, an abbot who died in 923 and features biblical carvings of the Bible. Then you make your way to Drogheda and the location of the Battle of Boyne – the pivotal battle of the Williamite quest for the English throne where both factions each took one side of the River Boyne. The day and the tour will end back at Dublin through County Meath. You can book this great 3-day tour from our online booking service.

There are lots of temples and high crosses around the area, which was built by St. Ciaran in 545. not fat from the site is the Pol-na-Brone Dolmen where the guides will tell you all about the warriors of the past buried in the grounds. Next stop if the Cliffs of Moher, the most famous cliffs of Europe located in Liscannor in County Clare. Or try and spot The Three Sisters – three rising hills over the cliffs standing in a slightly exact distance from each other. Next up is the great Kerry Mountains – County Kerry has two of the three highest mountains in Ireland, Carrauntoohil of the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks range and Mount Brandon of the Slieve Mish range. The Mitchelstown Caves is considered one of the most spectacular caves in Europe – the tour will take you to the show caves called the House of Commons and the House of Lords and to the awe inspiring Tower of Babel – a 30 feet high formation. Then you make your way to Rock of Cashel, also known as Cashel of the Kings and St. Partick’s Rock – a historic site in the province of Munster. This huge fortress served as the seat of the Kings of Munster for hundred of years – not surprisingly, you can have the best view of the province of Munster from atop the Cashel’s 28 meter round tower. Tipperary will be your next stop as you drive towards the Kildare stud farms and the famous Irish National Stud which dates back to 1946. The tour ends back as Dublin.
