Designer Mart at Cow’s Lane

Designer Mart is an all new outdoor market located in the Old City area of Temple Bar. It showcases handmade artwork and designer creations by Irish and Ireland-based designers. They offer an eclectic mix of high quality contemporary and vintage crafts - from handcrafted hats, metal sculpture, glass sculpture, photography, paintings, ceramics, furniture, jewelry, handbags, children’s clothing, textile toys, and many, many more.

The market is said to be full to the brim of creative energy; a fusion of art disciplines - with artwork and designer pieces by some of Ireland’s most unique and imaginative designers. Plus, with the wide variety of products to choose from, you’re guaranteed to find the perfect treat – may it be a gift or just a simple token to remember that day.

Located in the Old City, it is the perfect way to relax and unwind on a Saturday - with a wide variety of specialty shops and restaurants waiting for you as you settle down to rest after a day of shopping.

Some of the newly opened retail shops in the area include Debbie Paul Jewellery, Queen of Tarts and the Organic Convenience Store. Also, let’s not forget the more established stores of Smock Clothing, Retrospect and Peter Johnson Interiors.

The “newly pedestrianised” Old City – fast becoming the designer quarter of Dublin - is located just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Temple Bar, between Parliament and Fishamble Street in the west end of Dublin’s Cultural Quarter. It’s close to Christ Church Cathedral.

“The Old City in Temple Bar is the perfect location for an Irish designer market. This will be the only market of its kind in Dublin featuring such a diverse mix of high quality and unique items not available anywhere else,” said Designer Mart Manager, Eimear Chaomhánach. It is critically important that Irish artists and designers have a platform on which to showcase, promote and sell their work. The Old City Temple Bar with its unique atmosphere and sophisticated retail mix affords the market that and adds to the overall attractiveness of this exciting new Mart.”

Eimear Chaomhánach has extensive experience in working with Irish design. She established D.I.V.A (Directing Irish Visual Arts) in 2003 and sourced exhibitions nationwide on behalf of their artists. She also co-curated exhibitions in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, the Airfield House in Dublin and at the Kilkenny Arts Festival.
