It was Thomas Francis Meagher who conceptualized the tricolor appearance of the flag that would stand for Ireland. He brought a tricolor flag made of silk with the colors orange, white and green from Paris and presented it to a Dublin meeting. From March of that year Irish tricolors appeared side by side with French ones at gatherings held all over the Irish country to celebrate the reform that had just then taken place in the French soil.
